Maximise Training with the Power of Positivity

Use your bad day to further your training by turning aggression into passion!

When going after your fitness goals, one of the most important things to remember is to keep a positive mindset. The power of positivity has the ability to change the way you think, feel and act so never underestimate what it can do for you and your progression in training.
One of the top tips towards a more positive mindset is to start your day that way. Rather than dreading work, school or other obligations, try turning it around and just be constantly grateful for each day you are alive – even if it’s the worst day you’ve had all year. There’s always someone out there who wishes to be in your position so love what you do and always push on, even when it’s hard, and great success will come your way. After all, happy, healthy, successful people all have one thing in common – they think about what they want and how to get rather than wasting energy on negativity.
When struggling with positivity, AMPM trainer, Dylan, likes to think of 4 things he’s grateful for – it could be as small as “my family’s all healthy and fed” or “the sun is out and shining.” It can be something that is controllable or uncontrollable, as long as it’s positive, and just focus all your energy into that.
Harnessing the power of positivity can also help push you through those internal barriers to achieve more. In training, having a negative outlook can really hinder your ability to push on – especially when you start comparing yourself to others. By maintaining that positive attitude, even when you fail or come close to failing, you’re far more likely to get back up and keep trying until you succeed.
